Our Story

In 2015, in Bangalore, India, Shreyas Hariharan was stuck in heavy traffic and saw an ambulance stuck behind him in the traffic. An auto rickshaw driver jumped out of his vehicle in a rather heroic way, and guided traffic to the left and right, and somehow made way for the ambulance. Everyone heaved a collective sigh of relief and rode off into their busy lives. Shreyas was deeply moved by the auto rickshaw driver's initiative and wanted to find a way to recognize his deed. He wanted to create a platform where anyone could share a story of kindness like this one, and express gratitude. Hundreds of people have come forth with heart warming stories of kindness. Unsung People envisions a world where we notice kindness around us and are kind to others.
