Story of St. Peter
"It’s kind of a funny story. It’s a story of a man, and… he died! And he went up to heaven, and St. Peter’s talking to him, saying, “You know Phillip, we’ve been looking through the book, trying to find a bit about the good things and the bad things you’ve done to try to find out where to place you here.” St. Peter continued. “We’re having a bit of trouble -- I know this sounds terrible, but your life is kind of dull and boring. Could you tell us something we could use to help decide what to do with you?”
The man agrees, and starts his story. “One day, I was driving down the road and I see four guys beating up an old man down in an alley. They’re just kicking him and punching him and knocking him down. I’m not a real big guy, but I get out of the car and grab my baseball bat. I go up to the biggest guy -- he’s about 6’4”, 300 lbs with tattoos, long hair and one of those lips rings. I reach over and pull that ring out of his lip and look right at him. ‘You better leave that guy alone or you’re gonna have to deal with me,’ I tell him.
St. Peter says 'Wow -- that’s some random act of kindness! When did this happen?' And the guy says 'About three minutes ago!' And that’s my story." -Bob
